リセ・ケネディ日本人学校にようこそ。

リセ・ケネディは、生徒が言語能力を伸ばし、創造性と好奇心を開花させるにふさわしい学び舎です。教職員は、生徒一人ひとりが持つ可能性を最大限に発揮できるよう、きめ細やかな指導をおこないます。お子様のご入学を心よりお待ちしております。

リセ・ケネディは1964年にニューヨーク在住のフランス人子弟のためのフランス人学校として創立され、同86年に全日制日本人高校部門が新設されました。翌87年には幼稚園部を設立、そして同89年にはこの幼稚園部を併合し、小学校までの一貫教育体制をスタートさせました。

以来、多くの子どもたちが本校にて育ち、学び、巣立って行き、保護者の皆さまから厚い信頼をいただいてまいりました。この間、時代も社会も変化しましたが、日本人学校の創立者であり、フランス人学校の理事長でもあった園田幸司博士が掲げた、教育理念は揺らぐことなく継承され、今日に至っております。

その理念とは、子どもたちが集団生活のなかでのびのびと育ち、楽しい時間を過ごしながら、日本語の基礎を習得し、安定した情緒と思考能力が備わる教育の場の確立です。日本の教育システムを導入し、日本独自の文化や伝統への理解を深める教育課程でありつつ、フランス人学校と共存するユニークな環境を活かし、ますます多様化する社会に貢献できる人物の育成を期しています。

こうした長年の信頼と伝統を守り、お子さまの個性を引き出し、さらなる伸長に今後も尽力してまいります。保護者の皆さまと関係機関の皆さまからの、本校教育へのご理解とご支援を賜りますよう、心よりお願い申し上げます。

Lyceum Kennedy was founded in 1964 as a school for French-speaking students living in New York City.  Later in 1986, the Japanese school was established as a high school in Lyceum Kennedy. The following year a preschool in Japanese school was opened, and in 1989 it became an affiliate of the elementary school.

Since then, many Japanese school students have completed their education here and we have earned the trust of their parents and guardians. During this period, times and society have changed, but the educational philosophy by Dr. Koji Sonoda, the founder of the Japanese school and the president of the French school, has remained unchanged and is carried on to this day.

Dr. Koji Sonoda's philosophy is to establish a place where children can learn the basics of the Japanese language and develop stable emotions and thinking skills while growing up in a positive group environment. The classes of the Japanese School follow the Japanese curriculum guideline and strive to deepen the students' understanding of Japanese culture and traditions.  Also taking advantage of the unique environment coexisting with a French school, our school is committed to educating individuals who can contribute to a diverse society.

With this long-standing trust and tradition, the Japanese school will continue to nurture and further develop the individuality of each child.  We sincerely appreciate the understanding and support of parents and related organizations for their confidence in the education standards at our school.
